How do I find scholarly journal articles in GALILEO?

Answer

The starting point to find online articles is through GALILEO Virtual Library which is the gateway to research databases.

You can access GALILEO through your Canvas course site or from the library home page.

Canvas>Library Tools> TU Library & Learning Commons Tools>Galileo

Or from the library's homepage:

If it is the first time you have logged in, you will be prompted to enter your username and password (same as Hawklink/Canvas credentials).

In GALILEO, select Classic Search.

Enter the key words for your search into the boxes. Click on the search button.

From the results page, use the filters and limiters on the left to make sure your results include scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles. You can also limit to full text articles and by date range.

If the library has full-text access the articles, you will see a HTML or PDF link underneath. If an article is not available, you can request the article through Interlibrary Loan which will send it to you electronically if the article is available through another lending library. Just be sure to enter all of the information into the Interlibrary Loan Form

For personal research assistance, you can also schedule an appointment with a librarian using the booking tool: https://thomasu.libcal.com/appointments/students
